The Trap

So another Halloween has come and gone. The bait was put out and taken by the greedy. The greedy goblins, the greedy witches, the greedy monsters, mummies and other makers of mayhem. Taken by the greedy black cats, clowns, princesses and ballerinas too.

Yes, the trap was laid. It would take a while for the prey to be brought in, but those greedy ones would come, in time. There would be some pain caused by special instruments, restraints may be called for in special cases. There was no way around it though, nothing could save them.

There would be agony before they came as well, for the bait, although sweet at first, would begin destroying their defenses immediately. Eating away at them until a breach into their interior had been made, and then sweet sweet agony and pain.

Their wails and tears would be what brought them in. They’d be dragged in by the guardians. Some in stony silence, others kicking and screaming. Then those greedy ones would be worked upon by the weilders of those strange instruments. They’d be scanned, probed, and subjected to countless other procedures, but they would come.

Oh, yes, they would come, and they would pay. Pay a lot.
